Hi I'm Collin

I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am currently attending Brigham Young University in Rexburg, Idaho. I served a mission for the Church in the West Indies. I am from a family of 9 (2 brothers and 6 sisters). I love to exercise, play sports, be outdoors, and read.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I choose to be. I was raised a member. My parents would make effort out of their busy schedules to sit down and read scripture with us and teach us the gospel. We would also go to church every Sunday. I always remember feeling something different when we did these things. It was a good, gentle, and peaceful feeling. I didn't understand why I felt those feelings, but I recognized that Jesus Christ and His teachings brought it. As I got older, I better learned and understood the doctrine. I learned that it was the fruits of the spirit (Galatians. 5:22-23). I attended seminary (youth classes during the week), I continued attending church, and reading the scriptures. I continued to get these encouraging feelings from these activities. However, it wasn't until I left my home and flew to the West Indies to serve a mission for the church that my testimony began to really solidify. I met people from many different world religions. I met Muslims, Hindus, and various sects of Christianity. They all believed different things, and they all believed that they were true. Sometimes it was confusing for me, and it did cause some doubt to my upbringing. It was then, on my mission, that I began to seriously investigate the church and its doctrine. I studied the Book of Mormon, and the teachings of modern prophets. Through personal experiences, the things I read soon developed strong personal relevance for me. My testimony grew immensely! I was able to serve the Lord faithfully as a missionary, and help many people come unto Christ. I have a testimony of Jesus Christ. I know He has given us His gospel through prophets. I know the Book of Mormon is true, and anyone can come to know this through sincere prayer, and reading the Book of Mormon, and acting on the things it teaches. I know that families are eternal through our Heavenly Father's plan. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

There are many things I do to live my faith. I serve faithfully in the callings I am given. My current calling in the church is the Ward Mission Leader. I am responsible for leading member missionary work in my congregation. I also help teach, and prepare members to prepare for ;;jI look for opportunities to serve others outside of church. I take time to pray and read the scriptures (Book of Mormon and Bible). I attend the temple regularly. I discuss gospel teachings with friends and family.
