Hi I'm Joseph

I'm a husband and father of four. I'm a lifelong Mormon.

About Me

I was the 3rd of nine children and was raised in a farming community. My parents taught us how to work hard, serve and love others, and be good citizens. I served a mission for the Mormon church for 25 months in Queensland Australia and Papua New Guinea. I have been married for almost 23 years and have 1 son and 3 daughters. My son has served a Mormon mission to Chile and is now attending University. I have a daughter that is in Chicago, Illinois serving a Mormon mission. I have worked in the Financial Services for 22 years and enjoy helping people achieve their financial goals and leaving legacies to their families. I also love working with the youth. I've been involved with the scouting program and love the good it does for the young men that are actively involved in it.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon. My parents always practiced (lived) what they taught us. At the age of 17 however, I received my belief that the Mormon church was the restored gospel of Jesus Christ on the Earth. That the Priesthood (Authority) and modern day Prophets had been restored. That God is our Heavenly Father and he sent his son Jesus Christ to die for us and then was resurrected that we too may be able to return to live with him again. I have felt his love through the holy spirit many times. I have seen his priesthood to heal the sick, comfort those in need, give service that was life changing to people in need. I love how the gospel of Jesus Christ is about families and self improvement.

How I live my faith

I have served in many different areas in the Mormon church as it is a lay organization. I love working with the youth of the church, scouting, and many other service opportunities when needed. I currently work with the leadership (4 men) who are helping to train and support the leaders of the young men (boys 12-18) who are responsible for 9 congregations. I also help support the leadership of 1 of those congregations. I have tried to teach my children the same principles that my wife and I were taught. I try to live my life in a way that I can make a difference in the life of those around me. I try to be honest in my dealings with the people that I work with and do a lot of extra service that I'm never compensated for and always treat them as if they are family.
