Hi I'm Courteney

Lover of all things Disney. Married to my high school sweetheart. But most importantly, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up as an only child in a dysfunctional household. It seems like all I ever did was listen to music and play video games, which I have carried with me into my adult life. Currently, I am happily married to my high school sweet heart & attending college. I love being out on the water, and in nature. Anything from being on the top of a mountain, to walking through gardens, and even scuba diving!

Why I am a Mormon

Before meeting my boyfriend of the time, currently my husband, I attend a Christian/Pentecostal church. It was not too long after we had been dating, that my boyfriend invited me to go to church with him. It was strange at first because I honestly didn't know very much about the religion. My parents, who are not members, were surprisingly very supportive of my investigation. They tried to make sure I saw every angle so that I could go on to later make an informed decision. Soon, I began meeting regularly with the sister missionaries who helped me grow not only spiritually, but as a person. These two women were one of the biggest blessings in my life, and I am still friends with them to this day. After close to a year of investigating the church I got baptized, a year later I graduated high school, and a year after that I got married. I have attended many other churches in my life, but none even compare to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I can testify that I know this church is true. No matter how difficult my life may be, the truth in the restored gospel has always been there for help and guidance.

How I live my faith

My husband and I attend church every sunday. During the rest of the week, we apply church teachings to our daily lives. Helping others through works of service, holding high moral standards, dressing modestly, and seeking out opportunities to learn and grow. The Word of Wisdom is also very important to me. Just how the Bible and The Book of Mormon keep my mind and soul pure, The Word of Wisdom keeps my body pure. Abstaining from drugs and alcohol, tobacco, tea and coffee. It also tells us that our body is a temple, and should be a wholesome and healthy place to dwell. This is easily accomplished by eating healthy, exercising, and to not be gluttonous in our actions. My husband and I also pray together every night before going to bed. Not only does that help us grow spiritually, but it brings us closer together as a couple. My faith, my husband, and this church is what helps me to live a righteous, and happy life. It is one of the best feelings in the world.
