Hi I'm Keegan

I am a state champion Ultimate Frisbee player, I love Mint Oreos, and Sour Patch Kids. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am 19 years old, I love to play Ultimate Frisbee and make people smile. I have been a member of the LDS church my entire life. I am the oldest of 4 kids and have the best parents in the world who have been the greatest examples I could have asked for in my life. I am currently serving a mission in Minnesota :) I love to make videos, in high school I would film our school's sports and make highlight videos from them. After my mission finishes I plan on attending BYU-Idaho and trying to start a career in broadcasting or film editing. I am a die hard BYU sports fan and LOVE going to football games with my awesome family. I was able to be a part of a state champion Ultimate Frisbee team my senior year in the state of Utah. I hope to continue playing Ultimate when I go to school. I really love to have fun, I like being with my friends and family and just being able to be me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am the type of person that is either 100% in or 100% out I do not like sitting on fences and for a long time that is where I was at when it came to religion. I always wondered if what my parents told me my whole life was really true. After 16 years of riding their faith coat tails I decided I either needed to find out for myself if this church was true or not be a part of it. After a long couple months of scripture study, prayer, and repentance I came to know with a surety of my heart that this really is Christ's church restored on the earth today. Since being on a mission I have come to know so much better that the Book of Mormon is TRUE and that Joseph Smith really was a prophet, called of God to restore the fullness of Christ's gospel on the earth.

How I live my faith

Playing Ultimate Frisbee through high school was always my favorite thing to do. My team traveled to tournaments in San Francisco and Chicago and I loved every second. Being a Mormon I believe very strongly that Sunday is a day for rest and worship but that is kind of a hard thing when Ultimate is predominately a sport played on Saturday and Sunday. I was blessed to play on a team where we all had that same standard so the way that we showed our faith was by playing our guts out on Saturday but forfeiting Sunday play to keep that as a more holy day. That was never an easy thing to do, but we saw in multiple instances through that season the blessings that came from it. I also have been a home teacher in my home congregation since I was 14 and have loved being able to teach some of the members of my ward every month. Currently I am living in Minnesota serving a mission for my church. I have been doing it for over a year now and have loved the chance I have had to serve the people of Minnesota.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Keegan
A testimony is a firm belief in something that you come to know to be true. "I have a testimony that the Book of Mormon is the word of God along with the Bible." I gained that testimony through a lot of study and prayer. A testimony can be of any truth, whether it be the Book of Mormon or in Christ's church it is not only just believing something but acting on that belief and helping others to know the same truth. To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Keegan
Honestly? It's the fact that it's true. The church is growing so fast because more and more people are coming to know for themselves that this church is not just another Christian faith but this really is the kingdom of God on earth today. Now I know there are probably people out there that may read this and get offended by my boldness. Please do not take offence, I have a very deep respect for many other denominations and it was my time in Minnesota as a full time missionary that I gained that respect. So many churches teach good things and do great things, but the fullness of the Lord's teachings are only found in one place, and that is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Now just like I told people on my mission, don't take my word for it, but don't brush what I am saying away, you need to figure out for yourself if it's true. But if you never take the time to study it, and not just things you find on the internet but sources actually from our church, and pray about it, you will not only never know if it's true but you can never say that without a doubt that it isn't true. Try it out, and you'll see for your self why the church is growing. Show more Show less
