Hi I'm Jaylee Nielsen

I was born in Montana and raised in Utah. I have been a Mormon my whole life and proud of it.

About Me

I have recently graduated with my Associate's Degree as salutatorian of my graduating class. I love learning and enjoy grasping new concepts. A few hobbies that I thoroughly enjoy include playing the piano, running, and spending time with my family. I grew up with five brothers and one sister and I love all of them dearly. They have taught me so much and continue to teach me through their faith and example. Most importantly, my parents have conformed me into the individual that I am today. I love all of them and I don't know where I would be without them. I recognize the importance of maintaining a healthy body and enjoy being outside hiking, biking, running, etc.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know it to be true and I love it. I have been a member my whole life and I have been thoroughly blessed because of it. I was taught at a young age the importance of church attendance, scripture reading, and daily prayer. I continue to develop these skills through my maturity and hope and pray that I can someday pass these habits on to my children. I am a mormon because the Holy Ghost has testified to me in my heart and mind that it is true through daily scripture study and prayer. I know of the blessings that come from diligently seeking the Lord through scripture study and learning more about Him and His ministry. I know the power of prayer and the peace it can bring if we take the time to listen and to pray with real intent. We have a Savior that dedicated His life to this gospel and died so that we might live. I know that we can return to Him again if we follow the counsel of our Latter-Day prophets, participate in scripture study and daily prayer, attend church weekly, and to center our lives around His example. For when we do this, the shafts in the whirlwind and the might storms that will beat upon us, will have no power over us because of the rock upon which we are built. It is a sure foundation. A foundation that if we build upon it, we cannot fall.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example. I strongly believe that actions speak louder than words. I strive to be my best at church, school, and work. Currently, I am serving in the Relief Society presidency as a 1st counselor and I have already learned and grown drastically. Previously, I have had the opportunity to serve as ward chorister, ward pianist, and a member on Institute council. Through these callings, I have had the opportunity to plan relief society and institute activities for the young single adults in our area. I love and seek for opportunities to serve my fellowmen and hope that I can somehow make a difference in their lives - whether it be great or small.
