Hi I'm John Bateman

I'm a missionary currently serving in the Japan, Kobe mission. I enjoy the outdoors, and enjoy seeing the gospel help others.

About Me

I just graduated high school, and I played high school baseball. I was surrounded by a lot of guys who had strong testimonies of the gospel, and that has helped me prepare for a mission in many different ways. I love snowboarding, mountain biking, and hiking. I was born into this religion, but, like everyone else, I was truly converted. If there was one thing I could say about the church is that only good things can come through following the teachings of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church. But at some point, everyone needs to be converted. I'm a Mormon because I chose to be baptized. I'm a Mormon because I know that our Heavenly Father loves us dearly. When we smile, he smiles. When we cry, he cries. I'm a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints brings nothing but happiness to the members. When we have faith, when we repent, when are baptized to become members of this church, when we receive the gift of the companionship of the Holy Ghost, and when we endure to the end, we make ourselves, our family, and our Heavenly Father happy. I'm a Mormon because of the Saviors atonement and how we can repent with a sincere heart and he will forgive us. To me, that shows so much love that the Savior has for all of his children.

How I live my faith

Its an everyday battle. Waking up in japan away from my family and not speaking the language fluently is not exactly the best situation. But, realizing 1 thing has kept me going. God loves his children. He loves me. In all reality, that is the one thing that gets me over every trial I have had this far.
