Hi I'm Reese Taylor

I am an artist and a percussionist. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I come from a loving family that has helped me out through my life. I finished serving a Full-Time Mission in the Canada Edmonton Mission almost a year ago. I am currently going to school at the University of Utah where I am going into animation. I love doing art and I am planning on writing a Graphic Novel sometime soon. I want to help motivate people through my artwork, and try and make the world a better place through it. I played percussion in High School. And I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and I continue to follow because it has brought so many blessings into my life. The knowledge of the gospel has brought me so much comfort in the fact that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I can overcome my shortcomings through his grace and I can continue to go forward in my life without the feelings of guilt that come from sin. I am so grateful to be apart of this church, and I know that the Book of Mormon is a true account and that Joseph Smith did indeed restore the gospel back to the Earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by choosing to serve others. As a missionary for the church, I get that opportunity all the time to serve the people in the communities that I have been assigned to serve. I also teach people about the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and try to help others increase their faith in him. Before my mission I would do home teaching, when we would visit members of our congregation to help support them in their faith and needs.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Reese Taylor
The modern prophet for today is Thomas S. Monson, and he has the same authority to head the church as ancient biblical prophets. He has two counselors that assist him in the affairs of the church, who are Henry B. Eyering and Dieter F. Uctdorf, and with President Monson, they make up the First Presidency of the Church. Their are also Apostles under them that help the Church run. Show more Show less

What is the First Vision?

Reese Taylor
The First vision is the account of Joseph Smith when the church started to be restored. When he was a young boy he wanted to know what church to join, though all of the churches claimed to teach the truth. When reading the bible he found in James 1:5, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him" He did just that. He went to a grove of trees and prayed to God to know which of the churches he should join. As a result of his faith and his prayer, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ came to Joseph. They told him to join none of the churches because none had the priesthood authority to act in Gods name and the Church the Christ had established had been lost over time. The First Vision marked the beginning of the restoration of the gospel to the earth. Show more Show less
