Hi I'm Naomi Waite

I'm an English missionary serving in the Florida Fort Lauderdale area. I'm a Mormon. I know it, I live it, I LOVE it! :)

About Me

Before my mission, I graduated from university with a BA (Hons) Psychology and Marketing degree and did some voluntary work for a few days a week at a small local charity in England. I love art (painting, drawing, photography etc.), reading, shopping, listening to different genres of music, watching films (especially Disney/Pixar, the Marvel films... and Nacho Libre!) I played a lot of sports at school, including basketball, netball and rounders and I learnt to wakeboard a few years ago. I love spending time with my friends and family, especially now that I am an Auntie.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed my life abundantly and it continues to do so everyday, as I strive to follow Him and keep His commandments. I know that Heavenly Father loves each one of us because we are His children, and that is why He created a merciful plan for us to be able to return and live with Him after this life. Central to that plan is the Atonement of Jesus Christ; I am so grateful for the opportunity it gives me to try again when I fall short of the things that God requires of me, but I am also grateful for the help and strength that the Atonement can give us to overcome the trials we face in life - whatever they may be. Having this knowledge has brought such peace and comfort in my life, and I decided to serve a full-time mission because I want to help other people experience the same peace and joy that the restored gospel brings.

How I live my faith

For 3 and a half years I served (voluntarily) in the children's organisation of my local ward (church), first as a children's Sunday School teacher and later on as one of the leaders to help organise and run activities during church on Sundays and any extra activities for the children during school holidays. I have been a missionary in Florida since the beginning of July (2014) and will be serving here for 18 months (until December 2015). Our purpose as missionaries is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His atonement, repentance, baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end. Each day we have personal studies (to increase our own knowledge and faith) and then we spend the rest of the time finding and teaching people about the things that we believe and know to be true.
