Hi I'm MaryAnn

I was born in Anchorage, Alaska and now live in Florida. I am studying to become a Marine Biologist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a college student. I play basketball, softball, and love running. Though I like being out doors, I still take the time to read books, draw some flowers, and play board games. I truly love nature and will often take hikes or long walks just to enjoy the beauty that surrounds me.

Why I am a Mormon

As a child, I grew up into two different worlds. These worlds consisted of two different churches, Protestant and Mormon. This caused me to be very confused and hating any churches and refusing to go to either one. But soon as I got into High school, I started going back to the Mormon church. I soon went on many youth trips, seeing where the church began by going to Palmyra and going to Nauvoo where the first members were forced from their homes, and the city they built, with the just finished temple. This caused me to ponder and wonder why so many people would be willing to leave just for a faith. I read my scriptures and spoke with the missionaries. I continued going to the church trying to learn and understand as much as I could. The church always taught us, that the best way to learn is in prayer. I prayed and prayed while reading my scriptures. Till I got that moment, where I found in the scriptures my answer. I literally cried and couldn't breathe because I found the answer for myself. I found that this is The true church for me. And that I have the holy ghost to guide me, with my heavenly father always watching over me. Once I discovered this moment, I choose to be baptized and have been a member ever since. I know that this is the true church and I hope that my testimony and faith will help other uncertain individuals see the light.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a ward missionary and assistant event coordinator in my ward. As a ward missionary, I help investigators by teaching them lessons and inviting them to church. If they do decide to come to church, I help them through the Sabbath day as much as I am able. Being a ward missionary allows me, to have the opportunity; to share and grow my testimony of the gospel. As an Assistant event coordinator; I help plan events that will allow, those that attend, a chance to learn a lesson about the gospel in a fun hands on experience.
