Hi I'm Brett Yeates

I'm a geek at heart, I love my family, I love butter pecan ice cream and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the youngest of six children in my family, I was born and raised in Washington State. I have always loved being active, and the outdoors, and especially my family. I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and am currently serving as a missionary in Raleigh, North Carolina. Growing up in the church I was blessed with the knowledge of the Restored Gospel at a young age. But not ever experiencing anything different it was all I knew. So much like anyone who seeks for the truth I tried to actually apply the teachings into my own life and gain a true testimony. The testimony I gained wasn't an instant bolt of lightning; but much like the sun slowly rising on the horizon, it brought the knowledge and peace I was looking for and I know it is true And now as a missionary I have the wonderful opportunity to help other people come closer to our Heavenly Father and teach them the Gospel. Mosiah 2:16 "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God."

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it gives me peace. I know that even with all my faults and short comings that I still can be made whole and have eternal progression. My senior year in High School I lost my older brother, it was one of the hardest struggles I have ever had to deal with. But with the Plan of Salvation I know that the family relationships that we have here on earth can continue on in the next life. Through ever struggle I have ever had God has always heard my prayers and answered them in his own time. So why am I a Mormon? It's simple, I have prayed and ask to know if it is true, and if it is what I need to do. I believe I have received my answer, and I welcome anyone to give it a shot and find out for their selves. It'll change your life for the better!

How I live my faith

I strive to be more like Christ everyday. Nobody is perfect but we can all try to be the best that we can be. That is why we have a Savior, Jesus Christ helps us to become better and improve little by little. I know I am not perfect; but I really do try to be a little better than the day before. As humans we make mistakes all the time and we all need some help, Christ is always ready to help us if we just ask. And that is why I am serving a mission, to help people through Christ. I want other people to be truly happy and come closer to God,
