Hi I'm Isaiah

I grew up in the south, I love music and sports, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently 19 Yrs old, and I am serving a mission in Arizona! I moved around some as I grew up, but I lived mostly in Alabama and South Carolina, so I consider myself a proud southerner. I played most sports growing up; football, basketball, soccer, wrestling, baseball, and just about anything else I could do! Once I reached high school I stuck with wrestling, which got me into Jiu-Jitsu and MMA as I got older. I also love music, the genres typically listen to are rap, alternative, and indie rock. I play piano, and I enjoy making my own music and playing anything fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, but I questioned my beliefs from a young age. This led me to stray from the church and go into what we would consider less-activity. I considered myself an agnostic person, although I did lean toward a belief in God, I was very unsure. As I gained experience and started to look for answers and not just ask questions, as well as experience personal hardships, I ultimately realized that I needed to look for a meaning in life. This led to me reading the Book of Mormon and praying and living gospel standards, to see if what they had taught me at church actually worked, and while doing those things I gained a testimony that the gospel is true, and that Jesus Christ was my Savior and was real, based off the feelings I received as I did those things. I had a lot of support from friends and family, but ultimately I knew it was Jesus Christ that helped me through the hard times, and he just wanted me to be happy.

How I live my faith

Currently, I am serving an LDS mission in Phoenix to spread and share the gospel with others! I will be doing this full-time for two years, (June 2014-June 2016) and am loving it! I also do my best to be an example of Jesus Christ wherever I go. I try to love and serve others regardless of what they believe or don't believe. Living my faith or religion means that I "visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction", and essentially to help those who are in need. Although I'm not near perfect, when I strive to help others, and I see the difference I can make in someone else's life, I am eager to help.
