Hi I'm Tyler

I was born and raised in Northern Utah. I love learning and I love people. I also love my religion, because I'm a Mormon.

About Me

So far, my life has been a fairly simple one. I haven't traveled very far, though I wish to see places like Europe, Hawai'i, and the Eastern United States. In fact, I've always lived in the same house, which has been a great blessing, because I love where I live. I have a mom and a dad, four older sisters, and one younger brother who have such a profound and positive influence in my life. I also have some excellent friends who support me, make me laugh, and are awesome examples to me. I really enjoy learning, because I believe that learning is a big step in becoming self sufficient. I also love history, playing sports, hiking, and talking to people, especially my friends and family. I just graduated from high school, and I will be going to college in a couple of years. Right now I hope to become a Chemical Engineer.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is the religion of my fathers. I am so grateful to have been brought up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my entire life, because it has saved me from a lot of worldly stress, pain, and heartache. Over the past few years, I have learned so much about Jesus Christ and what we can achieve because He overcame physical and spiritual death for us, His brothers and sisters. I know that we have a Heavenly Father who loves us more than we can comprehend. He has put us on the earth in families that can help us become better people. I love my family so much, and I am so very grateful that, through living the gospel and making and keeping sacred covenants, I can live with them for all eternity. I know that families can be together forever, because I have studied the scriptures and felt the Spirit witness to me that everyone can have a forever family. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is His true church restored in these days, and that we can obtain eternal happiness by abiding by the laws and ordinances found therein. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and that it was translated by Joseph Smith, who was a prophet of God. We have a prophet today, Thomas S. Monson, and I know that He is the mouthpiece of the Lord today. I have found peace, happiness, and other blessings in my life through prayer, studying scripture, and hearkening unto the prophets of today. Being a Mormon is for me, and I know that it is for you too.

How I live my faith

Right now I am an active member of my ward. I go to church every Sunday and partake of the Sacrament weekly, which allows me to renew the covenants I have made with God every week. I strive to study my scriptures every day, and to say daily prayer as well. I know that doing these things will bring us closer to our Heavenly Father. As a hometeacher, I visit and serve other members of my ward who I have grown to love so much while trying to serve them. In fact, I am confident that they have taught me much more than I have taught them, which is one of the many things I love about my church: the more time and effort I give, the more I learn, feel the Spirit, and receive blessings. Pretty soon, I am going to leave my family and friends for two years to go on a mission and teach my fellow brethren about the gospel that I love and that has brought me so much happiness, safety, and peace.
