Hi I'm Max

I'm a musician. I love soccer. I love to laugh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Max! I have two great parents and one equally great brother. I love music in all forms and styles. I love playing music, listening to music, learning about music, and creating music. I also love soccer. My favorite team is my home team, Real Salt Lake. My friends and I play soccer once a week. I like swimming, running, hiking, and being outside. I especially like doing these things with my friends and family. I love reading all kinds of books. My favorites are The Great Gatsby, Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, The Harry Potter Series, The Scarlet Letter, The Lord of The Rings series, To Kill a Mockingbird, and others I can't remember.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and was baptized when I was 8 years old. So though I've been a member almost all my life, I wasn't truly converted until I decided that I wanted to go on a mission. I had left the church for a while, but nothing I found outside the Gospel made me as happy as I was when I was living the standards. So I came back to church and found my testimony strengthened. I know that God lives, and that he loves each of us individually, personally, and perfectly. I know that he sent his son, Jesus Christ, to live on the earth and atone for our transgressions. I know that after he was crucified, Christ was resurrected and that he lives again today. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet, that he saw God the Father and Jesus Christ in the Sacred Grove, and that he was given the tools necessary to restore Christ's church on the earth for our time. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and that its testimony of Jesus Christ and his Gospel and Atonement is true. I know that Christ restored the priesthood through Joseph Smith and that that line has carried through to today and that Thomas S. Monson is a true and living prophet.

How I live my faith

I have five callings in my church! I love having so many opportunities to serve. I am on the regional Institute council, which lets me go around the valley telling people about why they should take Institute classes, and I get to organize events like dances and socials. I am also an institute representative in my ward, which means I get to notify my ward of the events that I helped organize as a member of the council! My third calling is as a member of the Music committee in my ward. Members of this community help in the ward choir and rotate leading the music during Sacrament Meeting. I am also a District Captain over home teaching. I have 4 companionships who report to me their home teaching record. Finally, I am the secretary in the Elder's Quorum Presidency. I attend and keep notes at the presidency meetings, help organize and report home teaching, and go on visits with the presidency. In addition, I like to take advantage of any service opportunities in the ward, like cleaning the church or serving dinner at the homeless shelter.
