Hi I'm Aida

I was home-schooled. I'm a tutor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student hoping to major in scientific journalism. I love reading, writing, and astronomy. I play the piano. I am currently preparing to serve a mission in the West Indies.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church and baptized at the age of eight, but like everyone, I had to come to know for myself that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church, the one I needed to be attending. This knowledge came gradually, but over the last few years I have had experiences that made it so I could not deny that God existed, and that this was His church. I know that He loves us more than we can comprehend, and that through the Church we can return to live with him again.

How I live my faith

I attend a congregation of young single adults, teach once a month in the Church's women's organization, the Relief Society, and love every minute of it!

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Aida
Pornography is difficult to avoid and very addictive; I've been under its influence before. In order to keep it away from ourselves and our families, it is very important to remember that we have the power to choose. Our Heavenly Father has given us agency, which is the freedom of choice. When faced with the option to view pornography, choose not to enter. When faced with an addiction, choose to talk to your parents or spouse or bishop; they really can help. Choose to turn your back on the temptation and never return. Internet filters are all well and good, but I like something Sister Linda Reeves (a leader in the Church's women's organization) said: "the greatest filter in the world, the only one that will ultimately work, is the personal internal filter that comes from a deep and abiding testimony of our Heavenly Father’s love and our Savior’s atoning sacrifice for each one of us." I don't know how to stop pornography entirely, but remember, you always have a choice. Choose to follow Heavenly Father. He loves you.
