Hi I'm Lacey

I was born and raised in Southern Nevada. I like spending time with my family, friends, and animals. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up I spent most of my time and energy playing outside with my family and friends, doing chores with my 3 big brothers, and raising kitties, puppies, and chickens. I graduated from college with my bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education and I’m a High School Culinary Teacher. I enjoy being outdoors and active, playing sports, and learning. I also absolutely delight in having big happy dinners with my family, especially when they include tasty produce from my family’s garden and my nephews and niece!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the absolute true and complete gospel of Jesus Christ restored upon the earth today. Everything the church teaches feels right and rings true because it is led by Christ Himself through His living prophet on the earth today, Thomas S. Monson. Because the Lord is omniscient, the gospel brings peace, order, and direction to a world full of confusion and turbulence. The gospel is true. It is the straight and narrow pathway that leads to eternal life and is the only pathway that leads to joy and happiness. The gospel of Jesus Christ provides me with the knowledge that I am the daughter of a Heavenly Father who loves me and is acutely aware of me and all the details of my life. He knows and wants what is truly best for me. I can pray to Him for guidance and He hears and answers my prayers, not always when or how I think He will, but He always answers. Heavenly Father sent His Son to atone individually for every single person who will or ever has lived on earth, making it possible for me (and you, and you, and you, etc…) to repent and to become like Him so that one day, contingent upon obedience to His commandments, we can return to live with Him. The atonement of Jesus Christ not only cleanses and purifies us from sin, but it also enables and strengthens us beyond our own capacities. It is through my faith and belief in Christ’s atonement that I am able to do hard things and become more like Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to follow the example of the Savior Jesus Christ. My faith in His gospel shapes my life and decisions every day, including what I eat and drink, how I dress, how I speak, and how I spend my time. I seek to make my life centered around Christ because in doing so I know that my priorities will be in proper order, and I will focus on that which matters most rather than frivolous things which will not lead to lasting joy. Something that helps me to do this is praying and reading my scriptures every day. This helps me to remember my love for the Lord and desire to serve Him and align my will with His. In addition, I live my faith by doing my best to help others and trying to be friendly and smile to everyone with whom I come in contact. I also go to church every Sunday where I have the opportunity to teach lessons about gospel topics and serve individuals. I participate in many young single adult activities as well. These provide fun occasions to meet friends who uplift and strengthen me in my righteous desires.
