Hi I'm Asher

I am from Meridian Idaho. I am about to leave for my mission to Piura, Peru. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Asher. I was born in California and lived there for 8 years but I now live in Idaho. I just recently graduated from high school. I really enjoy playing sports. I was a 3 year letterman in football and a 4 year letterman in lacrosse. I also won 2 state championships with my lacrosse team. Some of my hobbies include fishing, camping, snow skiing, boating and really anything outdoors. For the past year and a half I have worked as a bee keeper. Besides the fact that I get stung all the time it is a great job! I will be attending college at BYU Provo and have been blessed enough to be able to earn a spot on their lacrosse team. Before I go to college I will first be serving my mission. I have been called to the Peru Piura mission and report to the Lima MTC on July 29th. I have amazing friends and family that have pushed me to get to where I am in life today and I am eternally grateful for them. My life is awesome!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church. I have been a member for my entire life so I have always known the truths of this church. I know that I must continue to be a strong member so I can be a positive example to others and also so that I can teach others. The church is true.

How I live my faith

Throughout my life I feel that I have had many incredible opportunities to show/live my faith. The first way is at church. All throughout my youth I have always been a leader. I was the deacons, teachers, and priest quorum presidents and I was also a seminary class president at school. With all these leadership positions presented to me I realized just how important it was to be an example. So I made sure that I was, as much as possible, living the best way that I could. I also have a really easy time connecting with people so instead of hanging out with all my friends at school I would always try and go out of my way to invite some people with less friends to hang out with me. I feel that going out of your way to help someone or make them feel better is the first step to helping them find Christ. I also was the captain of the football team and lacrosse team so that gave me even more leadership opportunities. For those of you that have never been in a football locker room before it is a disgusting, vile place where every kind of profanity you could ever think of is in use. So as a result of this behavior I took it upon myself to clean up our locker room. The first thing I did was stop the terrible music that was played. I also always made sure to share my disapproval of the language that many of the players on our team used. Once they realized that foul language offended me many of them stopped. I continued to do small things until the locker room was a much more pleasant place to be. I believe that there are many ways to share your faith but the one that stick out to me the most is to be a positive example to others.
