Hi I'm Jeff Nicholes

I was baptized November 2013. I am passionate about this gospel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in a small town in Nevada. I grew up working in my grandfather's auto body shop doing a little bit of everything. I detail cars for a living for a GM dealer here in Utah. I love this gospel, cooking, shooting, and dancing, which the church turned me on to going to the singles activities. I have had quite a few loved ones die in my young life and I did housekeeping work in a hospital for four years of my life. I have not only seen suffering and death, but I've cleaned up lots of nasty things so it was quite an eye opener about how precious life, health, and family are and how those are gifts our Heavenly Father has given us that we never want to take for granted. I had all I could take of that so I left Nevada and came to Utah to be close to my family and I made a wonderful friend through an auto parts store I was working in when I first moved to Utah. She introduced me to the church and I'm eternally grateful.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have had a lot of times in my life where God has steered me in certain directions when I've tried to stray away from him and he wouldn't let me get away from him. He has always been here to keep me safe from harm, teach me what matters in life through failures and disappointments, put people in my path that have always helped me out when sometimes I thought I was too stubborn to do it any way other than my own, and above all else, to always show me that his way for me is always better than what I had planned out for myself. I have a testimony that God is very present in each one of our lives, he will always show us a way to be happier when we put our faith in him to guide us, and he sent his son to teach us how to become more like our Father in Heaven and he gave his life so we can return to live with him one day and be with our loved ones for eternity on the other side.

How I live my faith

I have three callings already being a new convert in the church 8 months now and it's humbling to be placed outside my comfort zone of not being around people and having callings that show me there are things heavenly father gave me that I had not tapped into before. I'm a ward greeter so I'm at one end of the foyer every Sunday shaking hands and passing out programs and calendars before sacrament meeting. I am also on the Institute council for my young single adults ward and I help out with the planning and carrying out of activities that bring people together. I am a home evening group leader one Monday evening out of every month and I put on activities with a smaller group in my single's ward.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Jeff Nicholes
He conquered death for all of us so we may be resurrected out of the tomb and we may ascend into heaven and be with our Heavenly Father and our loved ones again when we believe, repent, and endure faithfully to the end of our lives. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, so that whoeverso believeth in him shall not perish, but shall have everlasting life." -John 3:16. Show more Show less
