Hi I'm Carter

I'm from California. I play sports, and I love having fun. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a big family and love meeting new people. I am 18 years old, and have just graduated from high school. I played water polo and swam for the last four years, as well as played the bari sax in our band at school, and plan on going to college at BYU. I am an Eagle Scout just like my brothers before me, and am proud to wear the uniform. I went to the National Jamboree for the first time in 2013, and had a blast with so many cool people I had never met before. I love camping and playing sports with friends, and I love learning even more. I love learning new things and then being able to turn around and teach others too. It's a lot of fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Mormon for a few different reasons, but the most important reason is that I know that the teachings of this church are true. I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed for guidance, and I have a testimony that it is the word of God. We have a prophet here on the earth today, and he leads and guides us. We have a loving Heavenly Father who sent His Son so that we are able to repent of our sins, and be able to return to His presence when we die. I have felt His Spirit and His hand in my life, and I know that this is the way I should live. I am a Mormon because this, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, is His true church on the earth. I know that He loves each and everyone of us, and that through Him all things are possible. I give this, my testimony, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

Being in sports, you come into contact with a lot of things and people, and they are not always good. I choose to keep myself and my body free from drugs and other harmful or addictive substances, and by doing so become an example to those around me for good. I try to be a good person every day of my life, and even though at times I mess up or feel like it's getting me nowhere, I know that people are watching and see that I am trying. There is always someone who sees what you're doing, even if you don't see it yourself, but when you put forth the effort, it will be noticed. I have chosen to serve an LDS mission for the next two years, and will be postponing my education and all other aspects of my life to go serve the Lord by sharing His gospel and His love with those I meet. They will see that I am trying, and I want to help them to see why.
