Hi I'm Wid Covey

I've lived in Draper Utah all my life. I am an avid soccer player. I'm serving a mission in Madagascar and I'm a mormon

About Me

I have grown up in Draper Utah ever since I was little. I have played soccer competitively for the past 13 years. Right now I am 18 years old, almost 19 and I am going to serve a mission for the LDS church for 2 years in the Madagascar Antananarivo mission. Before all of this I went to Alta high school and I played Golf and Soccer competitively for Alta. If you really knew me you would know that i am super competitive and i love any sport that is out there. I also play basketball with a bunch of my friends in the Winter basketball league called Jr. Jazz. When I get back from my mission I plan on attending BYU for my college education. I have changed schools a lot growing up and I was able to meet many new people that helped me create tons of friendships.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been born into the church with good parents who have never wavered in their faith in this gospel. but there was a time in my life where I had to choose for myself if i wanted to live this mormon lifestyle. I have chosen to live a mormon lifestyle. I will have to admit that it was very hard for a while to live to the standards that Mormons have set for them through our LDS faith. I went a long time not doing the things they asked me to. I really was part of the church without really caring about what i was doing or where my decisions in life were going to take me. There was a change that took place in my life and it came through the influence of my friends. this gospel had brought me happiness that i cannot explain but it has changed my life for the better.

How I live my faith

I have served in many leadership positions for the youth in our church. This includes creating events or social gatherings where people can come and hang out. it is really fun because you get to meet so many people. Its a way to step back out of the religious standpoint and find and create friendships with so many other people that will last a long time. These events host both mormons and non mormons. It is a great place to start if you ever wanted to get to know what our church does and what it is like to be a mormon. I also go to church every sunday. I am actually leaving today to go on a LDS mission in Madagascar. I will be teaching people about our church and the happiness and eternal salvation it brings to the people that are here on this earth if they accept the gospel in their lives.
