Hi I'm Ann

Hi! My name is Ann. I have been living with my husband in Sendai, Japan serving for the church and shortly we will be returning.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah and was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 8 years old. After attending the university for 3 years, I chose to go on a mission for the church and was called to serve in Sweden, the country of some of my ancestors. After I returned from 2 years in Sweden, I finished up my education and became an elementary education teacher. I taught 6th grade in an elementary school for 3 years. After that third year,I moved to the Washington DC area and worked for the U. S. Government for 8 years. During that time I met and married my husband and we bought a home in Virginia. While living there, we adopted 2 little boys. A few years later we moved to New York City and adopted a little girl that was born in Honduras. After a few years there,we moved back to the western part of the United States. In 1996 we moved to New Mexico where we now live. After our three children were all in school, I started working at the community college in our city. I worked as a secretary in the department when people came to learn English as a second language and those who hadn’t finished their high school education came to get their high school diplomas. After working there for 13 years I retired. I enjoy sewing and knitting and spent a lot of time enjoying my nice sewing machine after I quit working. I also enjoy reading a lot and have read many books, sometimes I even finish reading a whole book in one day I enjoy it so much.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in Utah and was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 8 years old. I have been actively attending this Church all of my life. I have always felt that this was the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I had some questions about things as I was growing up, but after studying and attending church, the gospel of Jesus Christ made sense to me and felt that it was the Lord’s true church that had been restored to the earth.

How I live my faith

All of my life I have been active and participated in many church activities. I have served in many callings, and served in the women’s, the young women’s and the children’s organizations. One of my favorite callings has been to play the piano for the Primary, the children’s organization. They have such wonderful songs and the children are so delightful to watch as they learn about the gospel and learn to live it in their lives. I also enjoy being a visiting teacher which is a calling that we visit a few sisters each month to make sure that they are doing well and are in good health, mentally and spiritually.
