Hi I'm Jacob

I'm from Colorado Springs; I'm a musician, am currently serving a mission for the Lord, and I'm a Mormon! =)

About Me

I'm currently serving the Lord on a mission speaking ASL (American Sign Language). I've been playing trumpet for 8 years now, and plan to continue for the rest of my life. I enjoy music, books, plays, and even movies or video games on occasion. My favorite things to read are the works of William Shakespeare, second only to the scriptures- including the Bible and the Book of Mormon- because they are so interesting and have so many things we can learn from them. In high school I was in marching, concert and jazz band, and joined the swim team. Even though I'll never be a particularly good athelete, I still enjoy being active and having fun with friends. When I have finished my mission I plan to go to college studying either engineering, music, or ASL interpreting. I learned a little sign in high school, but since going on my mission, I learn more every day. Deaf people are really awesome so I'm excited to get to know even more about their culture.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was born into this church, as a youth I also strayed several ways aside, and I found that the LDS church gives more satisfaction and comfort than any other path. It truly is God's living church, which means that He takes care of us, and I'm so grateful for that.

How I live my faith

I am super grateful be called to serve as a missionary of Christ's church, which means that I get to go serve and teach people about His plan for us. Before I was called as a missionary, and after I get home, I will serve everyone as much as I can, especially my family. Before my mission I have got to teach a class in church and serve as a home teacher, where I was assigned a couple of families to minister to and to help in whatever ways they needed. It might sound a little intense, (especially being a full time missionary), but God blesses us and helps us do it.
