Hi I'm Ben Houghton

I'm a 20 year old that loves tennis, snowboarding, and making good memories. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love just hanging out and getting to know people. I just graduated high school and had an amazing time. I played tennis for the school all three years I was there and competed in the state tournament in my senior year. I love snowboarding and longboarding- any type of boarding really. I write music on the piano and ukulele and love expressing myself through music.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe and have come to know that I have a loving Heavenly Father. I have felt this love and know that He is a god of mercy and compassion. I am a Mormon because the Lord has given me so many blessings and has proven to me that through obedience, happiness can be found. I believe in the Atonement of Jesus Christ and that it allows me to live a confident life with no weights of the world. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am actually leaving on a mission on July 9th to serve in the Bakersfield, California mission as a Spanish speaking missionary. I am beyond excited for this opportunity and even though I have a lot to learn, I definitely know that the church has prepared me for this experience.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Ben Houghton
Mormons are highly encouraged to help everyone and anyone of any faith or background. In fact, as I leave on my mission on July 9th, I am dedicating two years of my life to helping people of other faiths. This could be through service or sharing my testimony of the gospel. Our church also has a welfare program that uses church funds to give humanitarian services to countries in need, emergency response to natural disasters, and much more. This church is a church of compassion towards all men. Show more Show less
