Hi I'm Todd Tucker

I grew up in Idaho. I enjoy music, sports, and my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have done and do a lot of different things. I play the trombone, piano, organ, and drums, so I enjoy music very much. I've been involved in Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and a rock band me and my friends put together. I also enjoy almost any sport, such as football and track in high school, and golf, tennis, basketball, ping pong, volleyball, swimming, weight lifting, and many others any other time. I love doing these things with my family, because my family is my most prized possession. They mean the world to me, and I wouldn't be me without them. They're the reason I share the gospel everyday as a missionary. The gospel has blessed mine and my family's life, and I want to make sure everyone has a chance to have the happiness that I do.

Why I am a Mormon

The teachings of this church make so much sense to me. It gives me a meaning and purpose in my life. I know that these principles and things are true and that they come from God. God wouldn't let His church go astray, and this church is exactly that way, by teaching wholesome principles that are nothing but good. These principles make me happy, and although they may not seem fun, they are important to follow, because they make you happy in the long run. Without my life as a Mormon, I don't know where I'd be. I know that this is God's church, and I don't want to go anywhere other than where He is.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by example. People tend to look up to me, and I don't want to be the reason that someone does something they shouldn't, so I try to do my best to show a good example for people. I also live the gospel by sharing it. When people see a good example, they'll ask why they're so happy all the time, and I can proudly say that the gospel has made me happy, so I'm always glad to share the happiness casually and friendly. It's who I am. So much so that I've served as a missionary in Arkansas. 2 years are dedicated to sharing the happiness and good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and although it's difficult, it's worth it, because Jesus Christ makes me happy, and others happy when I tell them about Him.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Todd Tucker
Here's an example of how the Atonement works: When you use a credit card, you build up a debt that you have to repay later. When the time comes to repay that debt, you have to pay it, and the credit card company won't show any mercy in forgiving the debt if you can't repay it. A credit card company doesn't have a business that way. But, to satisfy the requirement of repaying the debt, what if a friend offered to pay that debt for you? Of course, they would likely make you repay them, but it would be on his and your terms. Christ is that friend that repays that debt. The debt is similar to your sins. You would have had to face the punishment of your sins if Christ hadn't suffered the Atonement for you. And the terms he has set to repay Him is to simply live like Him. He said to "love one another as I have loved you." If we can simply respect one another as human beings, then we can receive the full blessings and appreciation of the Atonement. Show more Show less
