Hi I'm Westley

I grew up in Utah. I love running, public speaking, music, and learning. I'm going to Harvard. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated high school in May of 2014 as valedictorian of my class. Throughout high school, I participated in cross country, golf, debate, and orchestra. I play the cello and the piano. I've been to youth leadership conferences at locations such as Valley Forge, PA. I applied to several Ivy League schools and was accepted into both Harvard and Princeton. Ultimately, although it was a tough decision, I chose Harvard and will attend beginning in the fall of 2016.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings so much light, goodness, and beauty into my life. Jesus Christ told His people in the Bible and also in the Book of Mormon that "by their fruits ye shall know them." The fruits of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, are undeniably and unbelievably good. My family is happier when we live by Christ's teachings; my life goes better, things fall into place; and in ways I don't fully understand, I just feel overwhelmingly good when I focus my life on Christ. It makes me want to strive ever more to be the man He and my Father in Heaven want me to be.

How I live my faith

I do my best to just be friendly! I've formed bonds with neighbors by visiting them in their homes as well as by inviting them into mine. I participate in activities with youth groups (service projects, dances, attending church). I play the piano and occasionally the cello during worship services. I'm currently serving a two-year mission in order to share my beliefs--the gospel of Jesus Christ--with everyone I can!
