Hi I'm Ryan

Born/raised in Northern Utah! I have been called as a full time LDS missionary on July 16th, 2014 in Mesa, Arizona. I'm a mormon!

About Me

I have been raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my whole life. I plan on going to Malawi, Africa with a few people when I return from my mission to go and serve and learn with the families there. This has always been a lifelong dream of mine! It would be amazing to go on a humanitarian trip with the Church there! Horticulture has always been my favorite topic to study. I love to see what hands can do and create. I love to make people laugh. We are here on this earth to be HAPPY! I know that we attain that happiness by following the Commandments with exactness and obeying the Word of Wisdom. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories! I believe we would make lifelong friends with each other if we would just get the nerves to say hello and introduce ourselves. I believe we should NEVER judge others, but be there with an open hand to those who are struggling and searching for truth. We shouldn't accept their beliefs and agree with them, but we can respect their agency which our Father in Heaven FOUGHT for us to have. I love being a member of this church and can't wait to be reunited with our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the Testimony I have been given of this Church. I know this Church is the one and only true church on the earth restored to us through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and through their loving help and that through the priesthood, the Gospel Christ taught and lived, was brought back to the earth. I know that the priesthood we have been trusted with is the same power Christ used to heal the sick and raise the dead. I have seen in my life, the priesthood in action and know it is real and working today! Would our Heavenly Father send us down here to earth and not prepare us a way to get back? He didn't. He provided us with all of the truth and things we need to get back to Him and we get those blessings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that we will see our loved ones again who have passed on to the next life because our Heavenly Father has provided us with the Plan of Salvation! The plan of Salvation is real and in working order today. I know this is possible because Jesus Christ died for us all, not just for our sins, but so we could live again as well. Most importantly, Christ was resurrected and is very alive today. He is in the very details of our lives. I know that we can be sealed to our families in the Holy and Beautiful Temples of God. Death does not have to separate families, they can be together forever in Heaven. I know this Church is true. I wouldn't leave my family for two years and sacrifice so much time and money for something I don't know is true. The Gospel is back and in full swing today! Pray and ask if this is true and read the Book of Mormon. I promise you will feel pure love and feelings you have never felt before. You will be happier, find answers to your prayers, and it can lead you back to your Heavenly Parents. I love being a member of such a Church.

How I live my faith

I always try my absolute hardest to live the teachings of the Gospel because I know there is blessings from doing it! If we give our 100%, Heavenly Father will do this 900%, helping us accomplish so much more than we thought we could do on our own! I try to act on every prompting I receive! When I was 14 , I had just gotten home from one of my very first times in Seminary and my teacher asked us to go home and kneel and ask if we were Heavenly Father's children. I strongly felt that I should do this and I pondered it the whole day at school. When I got home, I knelt down in my room, bowed my head and asked these words, "Heavenly Father, am I Your son?" Immediately I felt the most indescribable and incredible feeling of what pure love feels like. Ever since then, my testimony has grown impeccably! This is why I am serving an LDS mission, to bring the amazing knowledge to others of knowing they are spirit children of a VERY loving Father in Heaven, and that they can ask and feel exactly as I did!

What is being a Mormon like?

Ryan
Being a mormon is not as "hard" or complicated as others make it appear. I have found that the commandments we are commanded to live are there to prevent and keep us away from unhappiness and sorrow the world has to offer. They make life EASIER and give you a great sense of accomplishment knowing you are striving to be like Christ. Being an active Mormon brings a great feeling of purpose in life and an indescribable amount of happiness that one can only get through living the teachings of The Church. Being a Mormon is something I am very proud to tell people. I live my life like everyone else. I go shopping, go out to eat with friends, go an vacations, have a job, and go to church. Others may ask, does it bug you knowing you can't drink coffee or tea or go shopping on Sunday's? My answer to that is simple, No, because this is what God has commanded us to do, and all he wants is for me to be happy and make it back to him. There is a reason he commanded it, and I will listen! Being a Mormon is easy and fulfilling. I have been given so much from my Father in Heaven, the least I can do is live a few laws he gives his children and obey his counsel. I love The Church and will always do my best to give a little back! Show more Show less
