Hi I'm Hermana Banks

I am from California. I have been called to serve as a missionary in Birmingham, Alabama, speaking Spanish. I'm a Mormon

About Me

My name is Madeline. I am 19 years old. I love to swim, play tennis, sing, and play the piano. I was a college student, but I am taking a break. I have been called to serve a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church, I have been a member all of my life. However I have not always had a testimony of its truthfulness. I, like many of those born into the church, relied heavily on my parent's testimony of the church for most of my life. When I was about 17, I realized that this wasn't good enough anymore. I had to know for myself if the church was true. I made a list of what I knew. I comprised this list of what I actually knew, not what my parent's or church leaders knew. All I could write down was; 1. I KNOW that Families relationships continue after death 2. I KNOW the Gospel changes lives Armed with these two principles I was able to build my own testimony, and discover for myself, that the church is true, through studying the scriptures and prayer. I now know, without a doubt, that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that he restored the gospel. I know that Thomas S. Monson receives revelation for our church today. I know that Heavenly Father loves us. I am a Mormon because I have seen the power the gospel has to change lives. I have felt the effects in my life. I know that families relationships can last forever. I love the gospel, and this has changed my life for the better. These things I KNOW to be true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be an example of the church at all times. I have learned, from experience, that my peers watch my actions. Knowing this makes me try to always live the teachings of the Church. Currently I have a mission call. I will be serving the people of Alabama for 18 months, and I'm so excited!
