Hi I'm Bary

I'm from the Philippines. I'm a missionary in Pennsylvania for two years (January 2015 - January 2017). And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I finished college with a degree in Biology back in April 2014. I enjoy studying about parasites and microbes. I'm a sports fan. I love to follow sports such as basketball, tennis, golf and MMA just to name a few. I love to eat exotic food, food that is out of the ordinary. Also, just pretty much food, I think about food throughout the day. I can eat frequently all day. I will never turn down someone who offers me food. I also like to be crafty with things, I can make 3D scale models of buildings, ships or anything out of anything. I'm called to serve as a full-time missionary for the church in the Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. My family molded me to who I am today. I came to know of the truthfulness of the gospel for myself as I tried living the principles and ordinances taught in the church. I have seen how my family and I have been blessed through living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Though there will always be hardships and sometimes we fall short, we can always rely upon the Atonement of Jesus Christ to be healed and be cleansed from our imperfections.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is by striving to emulate our Savior's example by serving others. I find great satisfaction when I do my part in serving the Lord by setting an example to my family, my friends and in the church and to the people around me. I served the young men organization of the church in our ward prior to being called as a full-time missionary. Living the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings great joy in this life and in the life to come.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, all of us have overcome death and we can all be cleansed from sin and be healed from all our pains and afflictions. He took upon Himself all of our pains and sicknesses (Alma 7:11-13). Because death will come to all of us and all of us make mistakes and sin (1 John 1:7-10) and no unclean thing can dwell with God (Alma 11:37), through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we can overcome all of this things as long as we strive to keep His commandments and rely on His Atonement.
