Hi I'm Kara

I love laughing, and going on adventures. I'm an Artist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love living life to the fullest! I play the Violin and Piano and love singing with my sisters. I love going on adventures and hiking the beautiful mountains and canyons that God has created. I enjoy swing and ballroom dance, theater, writing, film making, music, and drawing. My goal in life is to be happy every day. I have faced many trials in my life. But after every trial I realize how much I've grown. I am definitely not a perfect person. But I try to be positive in everything. I try to look at everything from multiple perspectives to gain understanding, and an open mind. I love hanging out with my friends and watching movies. I'm quite the movie critic and I love to learn how movies are created. I have even made some pretty great movies with my friends.I love finding adventures everywhere, from hiking angels landing and playing nerdy games, to learning ragtime piano and serving a mission. I will be serving the Lord in the Taiwan, Taichung mission for 18 months starting July 23, 2014. I am so excited!!!!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a LDS family. But that doesn't mean I didn't gain a testimony of my own. I have read the Book of Mormon many times, and have enjoyed many Seminary and Institute classes. I have grown up with church lessons and activities all my life. And I have come to love the Lord's Gospel with my entire being. I know of my worth and purpose in life. The Gospel is wonderfully simple, and so true. I am filled with great happiness in knowing that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me very much, and he has a plan for me. I know that my family can be together forever, and I know that my Brother and Savior Jesus Christ atoned for my sins that I may repent and live with Him again. The Gospel makes me so happy! I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with all my heart and soul because I know it is the true church of God.

How I live my faith

I have been the ward chorister leading music, and on the compassionate service committee in Relief Society visiting with sisters in my ward. I love serving others, and cannot wait to get out there and serve the people in Taiwan. I love the Lord's Gospel so much and can't wait to share it with the world!

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Women and Men have different roles in life. Wonderful roles that when put together, they work harmoniously. Women have the divine role of being mothers and teachers and a companion for their husband. The Husband is the one who has the duty to be worthy to hold the priesthood so his family may be blessed by it. When a Husband and Wife work together they both have the power of the Priesthood. Women also have a great power together in the Relief Society. I love being in the Relief Society. We give service to many people all over the world. Together as Men and Women, as we stay faithful, we can help others and protect our families from the temptations of the adversary. Show more Show less
