Hi I'm Austin

I grew up in Arizona. I am an outdoorsman, baseball player, longboarder, and missionary in Germany and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to go out and enjoy outdoor activities; like fishing, snowboarding, surfing, dirt bike riding, hiking, swimming, and longboarding. I love to go to school and learn as much as I possibly can. I love to work with computers and build them which helps me learn more about them. I love to hang out with my friends and just have an awesome time doing fun activities. I am on a mission in Germany for two years and after this I am going to college at BYU Provo. I am an Eagle Scout and enjoy camping as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of what I feel and know. I have felt the Holy Ghost over many years during different instances and I have come to know that this is the only true church on the Earth. I follow the Gospel because of the happiness that it brings me, which I know can not come from any other source. I have a testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and also that Joseph Smith really did translate it by the power of God. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the true and living prophet of God upon the earth at this time. I have a testimony of prayer and tithing, as well as a testimony that the Atonement is real and is sufficient for us all. I have a testimony of the Priesthood and of its power. I know that this church is true and nothing will ever change that.

How I live my faith

I live my faith the best that I can everyday. There are no days where I can take a small break. I am always trying to keep the commandments and do what I know to be right. Right now, my calling is to be a missionary in Germany. Here I strive to be an example of the believers and I try to help others come closer to Jesus Christ. I always try to help those I meet and give service to them.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Austin
We need a Savior because of two reasons. One is death and the second is sin. The Savior broke the bands of death and every person will be resurrected because of Him. Without Christ making it so that we will be resurrected, we would never have our bodies again after we die. The second reason why we need the Savior is because of sin. Every person has sinned, does sin, or will sin. The only exception is Jesus Christ. Sin makes us unclean and no unclean person can live with God because He is perfect. We are not perfect. The two do not go together. We must be like Him if we want to live with Him. This is where the Savior comes in. He suffered for us in the Garden of Gethsemane, on the cross, and was then 3 days later resurrected. This is called the Atonement. When we sincerely repent, the Lord will forgive us and that is being healed spiritually. We are then clean before God and may live with Him after we are resurrected. This is all possible because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and that is why it is a blessing to repent and become more like God. It is possible for everyone to repent and become like God, because he loves me just as much as you. Show more Show less
