Hi I'm Kellie

I am a convert, a nerd, a foodie, a single mom, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I feel like my life is your typical single mom story. Long hours and lots of love. I am trying to spend as much time with my two teenage boys as I possibly can, before they are gone doing their own thing. There isn't enough hours in the day to do all the things I want. And sleep. I love things that are nerdy and dorky. I get excited about the things I can share with my kids. I love to cook with them and to take them out to try new foods. Our area has a lot of food trucks and a lot of varieties of food. We love them all so far. We make adventures out of our free time.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, I don't remember having a religion or knowing about God. I don't remember talking about it with my family. It just wasn't a part of our lives. When I was 16, a LDS family moved in next door to us. That moment, changed my life forever. I learned about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I went to sleepover after sleepover and learned about the degrees of glory, morning prayers, FHE and seminary. I learned that there is a spirit in a home that you can feel, and I strive to have that same spirit in my home. The gospel is my life. It is the life I want to teach my children.

How I live my faith

I love service. I don't remember liking it as a kid. But as an adult, it is essential. When I am serving others, I feel so grateful that I can do something for them. You can really learn more about other people when serving them. I see it as an easy thing to do for others. I am trying to teach my YW that as well. Being in the YW presidency has been so fun. A challenge at times yes, but really fun and rewarding. Before being in YW, I was in the nursery and loved that with all my heart. Those little ones are so precious! It is great to see their little faces light up. I see that in the YW sometimes too. There isn't any other place that I want to be on Sundays, but at church.
