Hi I'm Corbin

I'm from Idaho. I enjoy sports and camping. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Corbin and I was recently called to the Washington DC South mission, Spanish speaking. I report to the Provo MTC on August 27, 2014. I graduated from high school this last year and have been working to prepare to leave. I am one of the last of my friends to go out into the mission field, and with each one leaving my excitement grows more and more. I have missed them very much but I know we will all grow closer as we serve the Lord and share in our experiences as we teach the Gospel. My brother returned from his mission in Brazil a little under 2 months ago and I have enjoyed our time together and the lessons he has taught me from his service. I look forward to going to teach the people of DC and hope to be an instrument in the hands of the Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in a family that has been apart of the church was a strong foundation for me. Both of my parents come from broken homes and at one point or another became inactive. These times only showed to them how much they really needed the church and they were able to get back and grow stronger and continued to go once married. This testifies to me that no true happiness can be found without the Gospel. I know that if we keep Christ close, we can feel His love and know of our worth. The Gospel is the only way in which we can grow in this life and return to our Father in Heaven. There are so many blessings it offers us if we are but willing to open ourselves unto it. I continually grow through scripture study and look for answers that help me understand why it is that this is the true church. The answers are there, we just have to be willing to look. I am so glad my parents returned to the Gospel even with all their struggles. Their decision has continued to bless our family and I look forward to teaching others about this great church.

How I live my faith

I have been able to be apart of many sporting teams in which I am one of the minority when it comes to religion. This gives me many opportunities to talk to my friends who may be curious as to what we believe and what we teach. This also causes me to be aware of what I am doing at all times. I must be an example and show them what we believe, not just tell them. With my football team, I also had the opportunity of going to a local elementary school and reading to a class there. This allowed us to bond with the youth of our community and to show them what it meant to be apart of something. I am also an Eagle Scout. Being apart of the scouting program allowed me to serve the people of the community through various projects and activities. My Eagle project included redoing benches in a high school locker room and refinishing the floor. I have been in the presidency for many of my quorums and have been able to reach out to those that don't feel they are welcome or have fallen away for whatever reason.
