Hi I'm Alyssa

I love to camp, hike, swim and play sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in a family of 7. I am now 22 years old and just about to leave home to be a full time missionary for the church. I look forward to serving the people of Italy in any way that the Lord needs me. I love to spend time outside, hiking, canoeing, skiing, skating camping or just going for a walk. I studied health science for a year after high school. Since then I've worked many jobs either at a camp in the summer or as a server at a restaurant. I will continue with school in a year and a half when I return from my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

There is a lot that could be said as to why I have chosen to be a Mormon. Many would believe that I am a Mormon simply because this is the church that my parents raised me in. And although I am so grateful to them for raising me in the church, this reason alone is not enough to devote my life to living the teachings of the Mormon church. I have read the Book of Mormon, I have prayed about it and I have felt the Holy Spirit of the Lord confirm to me that it is true. I have had many experiences where that same spirit has testified to me that this is the only church that has the fullness of truth, that this is the church that will lead all of Heavenly Fathers beloved children back to His presence. Every moment of happiness I experience is because I have chosen to follow the teachings and counsel given through The church and I will always be grateful to my Father in Heaven for all that he does to strengthen me and His church.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith better every day. I pray in the mornings for an opportunity to serve someone, anyone who might need help in any way. I always want to help others because I know that helping others also helps my Father in Heaven, and I always want to be in His service. As I mentioned before I am preparing to serve a full time mission, I have lived my faith more and more as I have prepared for this mission and I know my faith will only continue to grow.
