Hi I'm Blake

I grew up in Thatcher Utah. I love bow hunting. I play soccer and ride a unicycle. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 24 years old. I have one sister and four brothers. As a kid I spent my time doing backflips on the tramp, rollerblading on our homemade quarter pipe, riding our gokart, or jumping my BMX bike in our bike track my mom let us build in the back yard. I always liked being outdoors and especially in the mountains. My favorite activity was getting to go deer and elk hunting with my dad and brothers. Waiting for the hunt to start is worse for me than waiting for Christmas to come. I love playing soccer and running. My mom taught me to love music and taught me how to play the piano and saxophone. She also decided one day that I should be able to ride a unicycle so when I got home there was one sitting in our living room. I decided I would take her challenge to learn to ride so I did and I have enjoyed riding ever since. I recently got married and I love my wife. I am studying to be a mechanical engineer and hope to graduate someday with a PhD.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know without a doubt that this church is the only true church on the face of the earth. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is led by Jesus Christ through his servants the prophet and apostles. They have the authority that only Christ can give, which is priesthood keys. Living the Gospel makes me happy. When I read the Book of Mormon I feel peace and I know that the book is true. The Book of Mormon teaches me how to follow Jesus Christ. I also feel peace when I read the Bible and I know that book is true. The Holy Ghost testifying to me that those books are true when I read them. I also know that when I pray God hears me and answers my prayers. I know that the world teaches that I can find happiness through money, possessions, position, or pleasure but I know that those things will only take away my agency through greed, selfishness, or addiction. I know that the true way to happiness and freedom is to follow God and offer our agency to him through keeping his commandments. There is nothing more important in this world than learning how to become like Christ by following him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing what God asks me to do. It is really that simple. God sent prophets in the Old Testament times to teach the people on the earth how to live so they could return to live with him after they died. Then Jesus Christ came. He taught and showed us all how we need to be live so that we can be happy in this life and in the next. He was the Perfect Son of God so he could suffer more than man could suffer and die to pay for all the sins of the world. All that he asks of us is that we do as he has taught so that we can be happy. He has sent us prophets and apostles in our day and has reestablished his church on the earth so that we can achieve that happiness. I live me faith by keeping the commandments. I help others live their faith by participating in church callings. Right now my wife and I have been called to teach the 3 year old children in Sunday School. It has been such a blessing to me. I have learned so much by studying the very basics of the gospel so I can teach the children. It amazes me that the gospel is so simple that a 3 year old can understand and testify of it.
