Hi I'm Matt

I grew up in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. I played basketball and golf for Eden Prairie High School. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of three in my family. Both of my older sisters are now graduated from college. My oldest sister has been married for 2 years now. I love to play and watch sports. I especially love to play basketball and golf. I played for my high school in both of those sports and I qualified for the state golf tournament individually. I especially love watching football. I am a huge Minnesota Vikings fan. During the summer I enjoy going out with my friends on their boats or doing something on the lake. I'm very active and like to have fun. I love to wakeboard and tube on my friends' boats. I have also received my Eagle Scout award. For my Eagle Scout project I helped gather supplies for Junior Achievement, a non-profit organization that teaches at-risk kids entrepreneurship skills. I also helped them put together all of their school packets for that year. I love to watch inspiring sports movies like The Rookie, Miracle, Remember the Titans, etc.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in this church, but that doesn't mean I didn't have to be converted to this gospel. Growing up, I had a belief that this church was true, but it has been a process, and continues to be a process in knowing that it is true, and then taking that knowledge and applying it to my life. I do know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church of Jesus Christ. we are led by a true and living Prophet just like in times of old, Thomas S. Monson. The reason I can say I know these things to be true is because of my experiences growing up and how I have felt. I truly have felt the spirit confirm to me that these things are true as I have listened to and prayed about different things in the church. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of god. I feel so good when I read it, and I know that the teachings in it are true and from God. I am so thankful that god is so merciful and that Jesus Christ died fro me. I know that through His atoning sacrifice I can be made perfect and return to live with my Father in Heaven again.

How I live my faith

I am very involved in my church. I love that I get to go there every Sunday. I was in charge of a group of 9 young men for awhile. I would look after their needs and plan fun activities and service projects for us. I love how much support is given to me in the church. All of my leaders are so kind and loving and it's just a great environment. I live my faith everyday. It is sometimes difficult to keep the standards of the church, but I know as I choose to live the commandments I am strengthened, and I feel God's love for me.
