Hi I'm Rachael

I'm married my sweetheart three years ago. I love cooking, my two cats, and nail polish. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married, with no children, but over 25 nieces and nephews. I lead an online community for nail polish enthusiasts and own over 2000 bottles of nail polish. I have struggled with my activity in the church but my testimony is strong.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it's the truth. I've watched friends and family members fall away from the church, misunderstand teachings, and choose to leave all together. Even when I am not active, each time these things happen, my heart aches. Growing up, I was very active in the church. I served as Laurel President, Nursery Leader, Primary Teacher, Relief Society Teacher, and other callings. My faith has never left me. My actions and choices were not always in line with the teachings of the gospel but I could never deny the truth. I know that Jesus lives. I know His plan is the plan of happiness. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I know the Spirit speaks to me. I know I am a daughter of God. I know that believing alone, is not enough. I know that there is more happiness possible than we know in this life. I know the war in heaven was real and that we are still fighting Satan and his minions. I know that we can have eternal life. I know that THIS church is the true church. I do not just believe, I know; and because I know, I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I do not actively attend church. My husband and I often meet with the Elders and Sister Missionaries in our ward. We have been blessed for 3 years to have missionaries as neighbors. Many of my friends don't know or realize that I'm a Mormon and I find it fascinating to have an unimpeded view of how non-members view the church. I want to go back to church. I want to be active. This is a daily struggle for me. I may not be active but I am still a Mormon.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Rachael
Women don't hold the priesthood because they don't need to. Women are born with divine qualities already. We as women have great influence and leadership roles in the church. We are not diminished by not holding the priesthood, rather we strengthen the church, our wards, and our families, by the unique roles we do hold. Show more Show less
