Hi I'm Sione

Ngaue ke 'ikuna, ukuma na'a 'aonga, mate ma'a Tonga! On the Lord's errand in the Texas Houston Mission and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm from a very poor family in Tonga(Faleloa, Ha'apai), who's been through life's toughest struggles, yet been blessed with God's most tender mercies. Although I'm poor, this gospel is what makes me rich and happy. My family is what keeps me Motivated and I love each and everyone of them. I'm a god fearing man, and I live and die for his will and glory. "Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever. Therefore, let us glory, yea, we will glory in the Lord; yea, we will rejoice, for our joy is full; yea, we will praise our God forever. Behold, who can glory too much in the Lord? Yea, who can say too much of his great power, and of his mercy, and of his long-suffering towards the children of men? Behold, I say unto you, I cannot say the smallest part which I feel."

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I choose to follow Christ, and his true teachings and I know that this is his true church restored here on earth today. I bare witness that this gospel is the only one that provides everlasting happiness and eternal families. I know that Jesus Christ lives, and that he was crucified on the cross for and behalf of all humanity's sins, and by his grace we all may be saved, and I am forever grateful for his infinite love and atoning sacrifice. I testify of the prophet Joseph Smith that he is a true prophet of god and through his unshakable faith overcoming many trials and tribulations he was able to restore the gospel in these latter days. And that from Joseph Smith to Thomas S. Monson are true prophets of god called to help lead and guide us. I conclude with a firm testimony of the Book Of Mormon that I know without the slightest of doubt, The Book Of Mormon is true! And is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that along side with the bible as far as it's translated correctly that they are true word of god. I know that if you read The Book Of Mormon with a strong desire, humble heart, and real intent that the spirit of god will manifest unto you the truthfulness of the book and his church, as it did for me. "And all ye ends of the earth, hearken unto these words and believe in Christ; and if ye believe not in these words believe in Christ. And if ye shall believe in Christ ye will believe in these words, for they are the words of Christ, and he hath given them unto me; and they teach all men that they should do good. And if they are not the words of Christ, judge ye—for Christ will show unto you, with power and great glory, that they are his words, at the last day; and you and I shall stand face to face before his bar" I invite you, not to take my word for it, but to seek for yourself, diligently, and prayerfully, that god may fill your hearts with his truths as he has with me.

How I live my faith

By fulfilling my church duties and callings. Currently serving a 2 year mission in the "Lonestar State", Texas Houston Mission to be exact! Also I live my faith by putting others before myself, serving my neighbors, and helping out the poor and needy. I don't live my faith perfectly but I strive to do my best, and be what he wants me to be.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

During the saviors earthly ministry Christ commissioned his disciples to take and declare his gospel to all the ends of the earth. (Mathew 28:19) Missionaries are fulfilling that divine call full time, and along with members share the same responsibility of proclaiming and defending the gospel of Jesus Christ. I encourage and invite all to heed to their message and ponder if the things they teach and share are true and of God. I bare witness that missionaries are divine servants of God, who come from all walks of life and circumstances to help and invite all to come unto Christ and recieve the true gospel of Jesus Christ! What do Mormons believe about family?

Families are essential in god's plan for us to return back to him. Everything we do in the church is to help build and strengthen families, relationships, and individuals in all aspects of life to help them come closer to Christ. As families accept and embrace the atonement and live the gospel of Jesus Christ, they have the opportunity to be sealed together forever with the same priesthood power given to Peter in Mathew 16:19, that has been restored again through the prophet Joseph Smith. Families can be together forever! Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is a special witness or assured evidence prompted and given by the Holy Ghost. As you live the gospel of Jesus Christ and strive to obey god's commandments you will come to a knowledge of which you can bare and give solemn "testimony" of it's divinity and truthfulness. All can recieve a testimony, if they diligently seek and heed to the promptings of the spirit. Show more Show less
