Hi I'm Alex

I'm a music education major. I love traveling to other countries. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love what I study. Music education is a driving passion for me, and on top of that, I love school in general. So as you can imagine, going to a university and studying music education put me in the happiest time of my life. Although, I knew that giving up two years of my life to serve God and his children was 100 times more important. That's why I'm serving a mission now. And even just preparing for my mission made me happier than my time at the university did.

Why I am a Mormon

I've studied this religion for close to two decades, and I'm still learning about it. Although I was blessed to be raised in the church, I reached a point in my teenage years where I became educated and cultured enough to question my faith. What a blessing that was. After receiving so much encouragement from church leaders to find out for myself if I should dedicate my life to this church, I began the process and sought to learn if I should. After praying, studying scripture, reading secular literature and engaging in hundreds of discussions with others about religion, I asked God the Father if this church was true (I figured that if I wanted to know the truth, I should go to the source). Well, through the Holy Spirit, He answered me, multiple times. And He continues to answer me as I continue to ask. And that's why I'm a Mormon. I think that's a good a reason as any.

How I live my faith

Getting to serve as a the choir and music director for my congregation has meant a lot to me. Many of my music major friends are paid for their time working with a church, but giving service without pay has truly given me a kind of happiness that I could not obtain by getting paid for my calling.
