Hi I'm Sara

I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. I have played piano for 12 years. I am an athlete. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm going to be a sophomore this fall. I've been playing piano since I was four. I've played sports since the age of 5, and I am a part of a third place, school record breaking. state 4x4 team in track and field. Sports, music, and spending time with my friends are an important part of my life,

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up in the church my entire life. As a child, it was easy to just go with my parents to church and provide answers in primary. Now that I'm a teenager and older, I've found it to be important to find out for myself if the church is the right place to be. I prayed and continually attended mutual, girls camp, and the Especially for Youth summer camp (a camp for teens that helps build a stronger testimony). As I continually go to these activities with an open mind, I've discovered that when I open my mind to the Spirit, He testifies to me that this church is true. And I know it's true. I know that the Book of Mormon is true because I've prayed about it. I know that Jesus Christ is my savior and that Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us. My testimony helps me each day to remember to stay strong and faithful, and that I am never alone.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be an example to my friends. I openly talk about my faith and express the reasons why I don't do some things that they do. I also try to live my faith through my hobbies, such as playing the piano in church and playing hymns often. Although sports are a huge part of my life, I avoid playing on Sundays and make sure my team is aware of that. I try to avoid swearing and participating in activities that don't uplift me. I think it is also super important to let my friends know my standards and that they respect them.

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes, Mormons are Christians. The meaning of "Christian" is believing in a religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, and centering a faith on Jesus Christ. In Mormon teachings, every doctrine and principle is based on the teachings of Jesus. We believe in Christ, we talk about Christ, we rejoice in Christ. The full name of the Mormon church is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints", meaning that it is literally Christ's church and it is built upon Him and His teachings. Show more Show less
