Hi I'm Chandlyr

I grew up in Southern Utah and I am an Eagle Scout. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and spending time with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am preparing to serve a mission in the Chesapeake, Virginia Mission. I am the second of eight children. I love being part of a big family. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and spending time in the outdoors. I live and work at Ruby's Inn, a business my Great-Great Grandfather established in 1916. I want to pursue a career after my mission that allows me to work in the outdoors, and to work with animals in the wild. I love basketball and am an avid fan of the Utah Jazz.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up as a member of the Church, but I have had to find out whether it is true on my own. I have read the Book of Mormon with my family, and I have felt the Spirit testify to me that it is true. If the Book of Mormon is true, then Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, called to restore Christ's only true and living church on the earth again. I am a Mormon, because we believe in Christ, and we strive to be like Him. We believe in serving others, in being honest, in following God's commandments, in loving our neighbors, and in striving to be good Christians.

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving others. In our youth groups, we have hauled wood for the elderly to heat their homes, we have helped clean up trash around the community, and we have visited the elderly in our ward. I enjoy serving others and I feel the Savior's love as we help others. I was the first assistant in the Priest's quorum and I enjoyed conducting meetings and working with those in the quorum. I am also an Eagle Scout. For my leadership project, we put grass between our Town's baseball fields, and we installed a flag pole. I will always have a great sense of pride as I attend baseball games and see others enjoying the cool grass, and as I see our Nation's flag flying during our local games. Scouts has helped me develop into the man I am becoming. I am a happy person, and I know this happiness comes from living the gospel of Jesus Christ. His teachings teach us how to treat others, and how to be honest and caring. I know the Holy Ghost has comforted me during times of trial and I know that our Heavenly Father hears our prayers. I know Christ lives, and we will have the chance to live again because of the Resurrection. I also know that we can return to Heavenly Father's presence, as families, because of Christ's Atonement that allows us to change and become better every day. We can become clean through Christ's Atonement, and repentance. I know Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon. I have read it many times with my family, and I can feel the power of Christ's teachings in this book. I also know the Bible to be the Word of God. With the scriptures, we can learn how to be happy, and return to live with God. I recently entered the Temple, and I was a little nervous, because I didn't know what to expect. After leaving the Temple, I felt strengthened, and I felt the Holy Ghost testify to me that the Temple is truly the Lord's House. There is no need to feel nervous when entering the Temple, because it was such a peaceful, strengthening experience.
