Hi I'm Alina

I was born and raised in Las Vegas. I'm a dancer and a musician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am going to University for Dance Production and Management with a minor in Business. I play the harp and piano as well as sing. I have a calling in the Las Vegas Institute as head of the "Seek Truth" council, and I actively participate in planning events for the YSA in the Vegas area. I was born and raised in Vegas and enjoyed the experience of being homeschooled through middle school. I grew to be very close with my two younger brothers and my parents! I love children and enjoy my calling in my family ward as Primary Pianist. I also love to write, read, and sew on my free time. I quite enjoy learning about my family history and I love to travel and learn about other cultures.

Why I am a Mormon

Most people assume that being born in the church means that you are brainwashed into believing every last detail and living it because of habit. I'm here to argue that this is not the case. Yes, I was born into the church, but no, I do not follow blindly. Through reading the scriptures and the words of the prophets I have had personal witnesses to me that the words and teachings are true. I know they are true for myself. I love reading the scriptures and delving into their complexities, but the simple truths of the gospel are the most profound to me. I know that I will be able to be with my family forever, and I am so grateful for that! I know that through the Atonement I can be saved. I know that I am not "earning" my salvation, but "learning" my salvation, and that someday I can have the opportunity to live with my Father in Heaven again. I am grateful for the kindness of the church's members. I am grateful for the service oriented attitude of the gospel. But most of all I am grateful for Christ's sacrifice given so that we all might be resurrected and live with eternal joy through repentance and forgiveness.

How I live my faith

I am Primary Pianist in my family ward early in the day and I also attend single's ward to get to know those around my age in Vegas; however I find it hard to abandon the family ward because working with children brings me so much joy! I was asked to be on the Las Vegas Institute council this school year and I try to magnify my calling as best I can. I love planning events for the Young Single Adults in Vegas, as well as helping them to Seek Truth and understand the principles and doctrines of the gospel available to them. I also try my best to be a missionary to my friends by using social media to reach out to those looking for truth. I love the gospel and I love the Lord!
