Hi I'm Maddi

I've grown up mostly in California. I love to run and eat nutella. Not at the same though. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 4 kids. I also have a golden retriever and love all dogs- despite being bitten by one when I was a kid. My dad was a doctor in the navy when I was growing up so we moved around a lot and I got to travel to some really cool places including 12 countries and 17 states. I went to a year of school at BYU studying biology. I want to be a PA. I'm taking a short 18 month break from that to serve a mission in Florida. I love anything outdoors and thrilling. Two of my recent accomplishments were hiking half dome in Yosemite and Havasupi in the Grand Canyon. I live in California and pretty much live at the beach.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe this gospel is truth. Because I choose to be. Because I believe that the principles that I have learned from it are true. I believe that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are the words of God spoken and recorded by our prophets- both past and present. I believe that we have a Heavenly Father in heaven and a Savior - Jesus Christ who came to earth to live a perfect life and atone for our sins. I believe that we have the ability to live with our Father in heaven again if we choose the right here on this earth.

How I live my faith

I go to church every sunday for 3 hours to learn more so my faith can continue to grow. Sometimes I like to help in the nursery with the little kids so their parents can go to more lessons. Throughout high school I went to a scripture study class every morning at 6 am. While I was at BYU I got to go to many devotionals where people from the church came to speak to us. I took a religion course on the Book of Mormon. In my ward at church my calling was to organize weekly activities for a group of about 15 students that they could attend every monday night and also provide a spiritual thought or experience to share at each meeting.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

For those missionaries who are financially able, they are asked to fund their own missions. There is a general missionary fund that members of the church donate to. Each missionary gets an equal amount of money per month from the church to pay for needs on their missions. Show more Show less
