Hi I'm Erin

I've grown up all around the United States. I sign ASL. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Erin. I believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I'm LDS. I've always loved ASL (American Sign Language.) I'm not Deaf, my primary language is English, but I am in the process of becoming both fluent and an ASL interpreter. I love to compose music. I play the French Horn and Piano, music is a big passion of mine. I'm trying to be like Jesus, He really is my superhero. I'm not perfect, but I hope that I can come closer to Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm not perfect. I guess thats the #1 reason why I am a Mormon. No one is perfect. No one can be. Maybe thats the appeal that I find from my church. Because they tell me about this Savior, this Jesus Christ. This man, who gave His life, for mine. So that I can be perfect. I know, that being a girl and growing up, there is an ever present need to be perfect. Have the perfect clothes, shoes, body type, boyfriend, grades, family. I could never match up. And now, here is this man, my Messiah, who gives me a whole new set of guidelines to live by, a new set of standards that are so much more achievable. And even with these, He gives me a way to be perfect. Jesus Christ has given me all that I am. And my Lord and God, His love for me is undeniable. I feel it every day. When I'm doing good, and when I've made mistakes. There is so much good in this church. It's not even a church for me, its a way of life. The only way of life that beings me this much peace, and serenity. I believe with all my heart, and I feel it. When I'm doing what Christ teaches, it's like my soul recognizes it. And The Mormon Church, we have so much more information about Christ that any other Christian church does, so it just makes sense to me. I know God lives. I know He loves me. I know He hears me and He answers when I pray. I know His son, is my Redeemer, and that He died for me that I might live eternally one day.

How I live my faith

I participate in the youth program in our church. I lead certain girls, in a certain age category. I am in a leadership capacity with them, but also as a youth, I am in the position to learn. I play the hymns on piano for the girls during the third hour of church. I am an avid CTR (Choose the right) ring wearer, and I love discussing religion with my friends and their friends.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

I feel differently. They say to follow your heart. The same way that we can't put into words how we know we love someone, how we know we need to get a new job, how we know that something about a situation is or isn't right, that how I know the church is true. Its the feeling of a fire burning in my heart. Its how I've taken the Challenge in Moroni 10:4-5, and how I've followed the Savior's teachings and found that what happens is exactly what they said would happen. It's because I've felt the love that The Savior and The Lord have for me. That's how I know. Show more Show less
