Hi I'm Mitchell

I'm 18. I sing all the time. I love sports, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I seem to enjoy everything I get involved with! As a kid, I was put in baseball. I love baseball. I could play it all day, every day if need be. I play the trumpet, and I enjoy doing that as well. When High School rolled around, I had accumulated so many activities that I loved that I had to give something up, so I gave up baseball. Very difficult decision. Eventually, I got a job, and became so involved in choir that I also had to give up playing in the band. This seems to be the story of my life - constantly having to choose between good things. A little bit about those things - I love singing. I do it all the time. I love getting out with friends. I'm not too choosy as to what we do, because I'm pretty much down with whatever - like I said, I seem to love everything. I also love Electronic Dance Music, and have begun producing music as another hobby. It is one of my goals to actually make it somewhere with that, but we'll see. Baby steps. I don't intend to have EDM superstar as my "Plan A" in my future. I am soon going to major in Mathematics, and the plan is to become a Math Teacher or something similar. I might go into the Music Education or Composition field, or the Opera field... I'm not 100% sure, but I have my options open.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Because it is the true church of Christ. How do I know? Because I have read the Book of Mormon, and prayed about it, just as it tells us to do. Because I did this, I was affirmed that it is a true book, translated by the power of God through a prophet of the Lord. It is the most surefire method to know for ourselves. Everything that we do as Mormons, whether it be "no drinking coffee" or "pay your tithing" has a way of knowing its ordained of God. And that is to do it. If you want to know if coming to church will bless your family, come to church. If you want to see if no coffee actually makes you more healthy, don't drink coffee. And pray about it. God answers prayers. Perhaps not in a literal voice all the time, but if we are paying attention, we can understand things in this life to be an answer to a prayer from our Heavenly Father. I have tried the church on these irrevocable promises by means of faith. I have prayed and asked about the validity of this everlasting gospel. I was not let down, because truth does not decide to fail anyone. This church is true. It is Christ's church. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Well, I live my faith by doing everything I can to be a good person. In short, I try very hard to do what Christ would do. This involves service, teaching, kindness, love towards fellow men, and so on. I try to be a peacemaker - at home and abroad. All these things would be a part of "living my faith." Christ teaches that the two greatest commandments are to love God, and love our fellow men. Jesus also said "If ye love me, keep my commandments." There's not some complex secret to properly tackle life, its been given to us in these two straightforward statements - love and serve your fellow men, and love and serve God, and express that love through obedience to His commandments. At church, I teach the 7-8 year old's in my congregation. It is truly an awesome experience. They can be a little wild at times, but it is so worth it. It strikes me how, when I teach, I realize that the most powerful lessons are based on the most simple doctrines. Because of their being so young, I often have to teach at that simple basis. Because of this, I get a reaffirming feeling of these simple, powerful truths, such as: that God loves us. He does. He loves us. He loves me, and he loves you. Simple. But powerful.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Missionaries proselyte because they want other people around the world to know of the goodness that this gospel brings into people's lives. The message of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints does surely bring so much joy to people because it provides them with knowledge on where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going in the life to come. It teaches that we are children of God. It gives us the knowledge and tools that we need to return back to live with our Heavenly Father again. It is a blessing to all those who will accept it, and we want to share with everyone the goodness that it brings to peoples lives. Show more Show less
