Hi I'm Bevan Haycock

I grew up on a small ranch in Sedalia, CO. I am preparing to serve a mission in Fortaleza, Brazil. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated high school in 2015, and am preparing to serve in the Brazil Fortaleza mission. I report to the Brazil Missionary Training Center on November 25. I lettered in 3 sports in my high school career; football, wrestling and track. I have 4 older sisters and an older brother. They are great examples to me and I would rather spend time with them than anyone else. I'm excited to move forward with my life as a missionary for the Savior Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the "Mormon" church but the reason I continue to follow the His teachings is because the joy I feel when I keep the commandments is impossible to feel at any other time other than when I'm living the gospel. I, like everyone, have been on the sinning side at times in my life, and because of that I know for a fact which side feels better and which side I would rather spend the rest of eternity on.

How I live my faith

The best thing any male my age can do is to serve a mission. It is quite the sacrifice - I'm putting off all the things I love about my life at home to serve the Lord. I am delaying my education 2 years. But I couldn't be more excited. It's such a blessing and opportunity to be able to serve the Lord and his church.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Bevan Haycock
Mormons do not worship Joseph Smith. We do hold him in the highest regard. In fact, we even have a couple hymns commonly sung in our meetings about him. However, we worship our Heavenly Father and His perfect Son, Jesus Christ. Salvation comes through them and by no other way. Joseph Smith cannot save us. We do not worship him. He was a servant of the Lord, just like we try to be. Show more Show less
