Hi I'm Bob

I grew up in Minnesota and South Dakota. I have and lived in So. Dakota, MN, MA, Thailand, So. Korea, TX and UT. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am retired now but have been in the US Army for 3 years active duty, 2 years in the Army National Guard, and 2 years in the Army Reserve. I have also apprenticed as a photographer to a master photographer, went to school in California to learn deep sea diving. I worked in the Gulf of Mexico as a tender, diver tender and then a diver. After being a diver I went to work for the Texas Prison system and worked there for 21 years, after which I worked in the private prison industry. My first wife passed away 7 years ago and we have four kids, three boys and a girl. I am very proud of the choices that they have made in their lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I realized that my life needed to change. I was a convert at age 27 along with my first wife. We both joined and have enjoyed the happiness that you can obtain by living the gospel in your life. Every day I learn more about where we were prior to this life, why we are here on this earth and what will happen to us when we depart this mortal life. Going to the temple twice a week helps me to stay focussed on the important things in life. Knowing that our family can be together forever (even after death) is a wonderful promise that can only be obtained by living the truths that are found in this church.

How I live my faith

We are shortly to leave on a mission to Johannesburg, South Africa. We are very excited and thrilled about having been chosen to do this important work. Family History work is very important to me and I teach FamilySearch.org to anyone that needs help in this direction.
