Hi I'm Jared Lyons

I'm a 19 year old Canadian, Eagle Scout, art lover, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a 19 year old young man who recently graduated from high school and I am currently serving a mission in New York City, in the New York, New York North mission, speaking Spanish. I was adopted as a baby and was raised in the church with my 4 siblings. I love Scouting and recently reached the rank of Eagle Scout. I love drawing cartoons, landscapes, and science fiction illustrations, and I love to spend time and play sports with my family and friends. I have a fascination for medicine which has led me to pursue this as a career choice.

Why I am a Mormon

My birth mother chose LDS Family Services for my adoption. She knew that she was not ready to be a parent, but she wanted to make sure that I was raised in the gospel. The gospel has blessed my life and I am so happy that she chose a loving family to raise me to love the Lord and to put Him first. My love of the gospel and the peace and happiness it has brought me, has led me to make the decision to serve a mission, which decision, I have not regretted.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith through way of example. As it says in James 2:17-18: "faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone". I try to set a good example to those who are around me by living the teachings that I believe-that I know to be true. I am not perfect, I am human after all, but I know that through the power of faith in Jesus Christ and sincere desire, I can overcome those challenges and problems that I have, and I can be forgiven and strive to be a better example of a believer in Christ.
