About Me

I'm Madeline! I love to do anything active! Especially to swim, bike, and run! I love triathlon's and pushing myself in every aspect of life. I was raised in a town outside of Salt Lake City called Tooele Utah. I love serving other's. I am currently serving a mission in the Romania/Moldova Mission and I LOVE IT! I love talking to other's and being their friend and trying to brighten their day!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this gospel makes my life complete. It helps me know who I am and where I should go and what I should do. It reassures me that I have an eternal Heavenly Father who loves me and knows me and who I can be with forever if I keep the commandments and endure to the end. I am a Mormon because I know the Book of Mormon is true and was translated by Joseph Smith and I can not and will not deny it. The people written about in the pages lived and learned just like we do. I know that if the Book of Mormon is read with real intent we will want to be better people. I've experienced it.

How I live my faith

I simply live my faith by doing what I am supposed to do with all my heart. I love this church and the hope it gives me and others. I try to not simply go through the motions of reading the scriptures and praying. I try doing everything with energy and trying to learn in all situations. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and I strive to be like him daily. Sometimes, I don't succeed, but I pick myself back up and try harder.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Madeline
Joseph Smith was a normal man, he had struggles and flaws just like everyone does. At the age of fourteen Joseph was curious about which church he should join because there were many who claimed they were the only true gospel. With his head and heart full of this question of which church should he join he read in James 1:5 "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraided not;and it shall be given him." After reading this he decided to take this step given to all in the scriptures to just ask. Joseph went into the woods and knelt down and asked God which church was right and he saw our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was a normal boy who was curious and had the faith to go and sincerely ask which church was true. He then had many other experiences throughout his life where heavenly messengers helped prepare him for his role in the Restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ. Just like prophets of old told about in the Bible, Joseph was a prophet who was called to restore the gospel in our times after it was lost for a long time because of wickedness. Show more Show less
