Hi I'm Stephen

I grew up in Brighton, TN on a farm. I am a teacher, a percussionist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a graduate student at the University of Utah where I study Music Performance (Percussion). I used to teach middle school band and general music grades 6th-8th before moving to Utah. I enjoy meeting new people, hanging out with friends, hiking, being outside, composing, and doing anything music related! I also enjoy reading, media, and politics. I am 25 years old.

Why I am a Mormon

The story of my conversion is a long one. To put it simply, I lived a partial gospel in mainstream Christianity for so many years. But after reading the Book of Mormon, speaking to LDS people, and observing the culture of Utah, I knew the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true and became a member on November 2nd, 2013. Read, pray, and ponder the Book of Mormon and you will gain a testimony of the Restoration, Joseph Smith, Jesus Christ, and the Church in these latter days!

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday where I participate in Sacrament. I teach the "Gospel Principles" class in our Sunday School hour for my ward. I also participate in Elders Quorum which is the third meeting where all men congregate. I pray and read my scriptures almost every night, study out of different church materials, and visit the Temple once a week. I enjoy speaking to converts and investigators with a Protestant background since we have so much in common.
