Hi I'm Heather

I am a student studying Dietetics. I am a newly wed. I love playing the piano and listening to music. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I grew up in a small town in Utah. After graduating from high school, I headed to Southern Utah University to study Human Nutrition. 2 years later I transferred to Utah State University to study Dietetics. I was sealed to my sweetheart Jared one year ago in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. Together we are figuring out life one day at a time. We love doing activities in the outdoors (hiking, hunting, 4 wheeling etc.) and we enjoy the simple things in life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into a family with parents who were active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was raised going to church every Sunday, family home evening every Monday night and attending all other church activities. My parents were great examples and taught me the principles of the gospel. There was never a moment in my life where i suddenly decided that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was true. I have always known it was true. When I went to college my testimony was strengthened because I decided if I went to church or not. My parents no longer decided for me. I began seeing the blessings in my life that came from living the Gospel. I had constant companionship from the Holy Ghost. I had more patience and was more kind towards every one around me. I learned more about Jesus Christ and learned how to apply the atonement in my life. I read the Book of Mormon everyday and my testimony was strengthened of the principles found in the gospel. By listening to the talks given at General Conference my testimony of the Prophet President Monson was strengthened. This past year I have been reading from the book of Doctrine and Covenants. I know that the true principles of the gospel were restored to the Earth through Joseph Smith. I know that my life is blessed everyday because I live the true principles of the gospel.

How I live my faith

When I went to college I discovered that it's the simple things in the Gospel that strengthen a testimony. The simple things include scripture study and prayer. Also being involved in church activities can help strengthen ones testimony and also provides a way to make friends and meet people who share your same beliefs. One of my responsibilities as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is to help the members of my ward who have had a baby, experienced a death in the family, or those who are sick by providing meals and helping them with whatever they need. The church can provide such a wonderful support system to help when times are hard.
