Hi I'm Milo Mitchell

I grew up in Connecticut. Missionary in New Zealand. BYU Student. Eagle Scout. Older Brother. Im a Mormon.

About Me

I played Corner back for my High School football team for 4 years. I was also the Captain of my baseball team as well. I have played baseball for 14 years of my life. I am an Eagle Scout. I was a member of the National Honor Society, and Spanish National Honor Society. I love the outdoors and camping. Some of my favorite memories consist of my father and I going fishing. I have 2 younger brothers. I currently am serving a 2 year mission for the church in Auckland, New Zealand. It is such an amazing and beautiful place. After completion of my mission I plan on going to BYU where i will major in Biology with the plan to go to dental school for Graduate School.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always grown up in the church. My mother has been a member her entire life and my father converted a couple months before my birth. I have always had the gospel in my life and didn't need to go look for it. However, there was that moment in my life when i was about 16 that i began doubting the church and the truthfulness of its gospel. I realized that the reasons why i was feeling this doubt was because I did not care enough to just read my scriptures and pray every day. I was not feeling the spirit like I wanted to. One day while reading the scriptures I had the question "Should I go on a Mission?" So i said a prayer asking for my question to be answered and I opened my scriptures to Doctrine and Covenants Section 4 and it read "Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day. Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work;" Right here my question was answered. I could no longer deny the power of prayer and revelation. The scriptures truly held all my answers. This small moment has changed my life forever and has now given me the opportunity to serve my mission in New Zealand.

How I live my faith

I have always found myself in situations where i am teaching other people. I have given numerous talks in my congregation and have even found myself with the privilege to address my Stake at Stake Conference. I have been a member of the youth group for 6 years and have helped plan activities for the kids in my ward. Often i have invited friends from school to come to church and join our church basketball team. I was also a member of the Stake Youth Council in which i would meet with youth around the entire stake and plan activities for everyone in the area to come to and meet new people. These are some of the best moments in my life because i have made so many friends at these events.
